ANNOUNCEMENT
ALPE ADRIA TROPHY 2014
Slovene Short-Track Speed Skating Open Championships
The Slovene Skating Union and Skating Club Celje have the honor to invite your team to the
Alpe Adria Trophy 2014, which will take place in Celje, March 29th – 30 th , 2014. The
competition is associated with the Slovene Short-Track Speed Skating Open
Championships.
The competition will be carried out at the Celje indoor ice rink with ice surface measuring
30×60 meters. A standard track of 111.12 m per lap with a radius of 8.50 m will be marked
with seven track markers per curve. In addition to the original track there will be four extra
tracks set up one meter apart to preserve good ice conditions. One finish line will be used for
all tracks over all distances. For the safety of the skaters a padding system will cover the
entire length of the boards.
RULES
The competition will be carried out in respect to the official ISU rules and according to the
All-Final System (individual races). The first round of each distance shall be set up based
on the personal best times of the skaters communicated in the Final Entry Form. The
subsequent rounds will be seeded based on the intermediate classification.
Only the top 6 skaters (and ties) with the highest score of Final points are eligible to compete
in the Super-Final. Final Points will be awarded in the A-Final races only. No points will be
awarded to Skaters and Teams which will receive a penalty, a yellow card, a red card, no
start or no finish. The skaters will be awarded 34, 21, 13, 8, 5, 3, 2, 1 points in descending
order starting with the first placed skater.
For the Final Classification the skaters will be ranked based on:
– total number of Final Points
– position (finishing place) in the Super Final
– combined ranking in the Overall Distance Classification
– highest ranking achieved in one of the distances and subsequent other best rankings
CATEGORIES
The competition will be opened to the following age groups:
Seniors 30.6.1994 and older
Juniors A 1.7.1994 – 30.6.1996
Juniors B 1.7.1996 – 30.6.1998
Juniors C 1.7.1998 – 30.6.2000
Juniors D 1.7.2000 – 30.6.2002
Juniors E 1.7.2002 – 30.6.2004
Juniors F 1.7.2004 and younger
The Organizing Committee reserves the right to combine age groups depending on the
number of final entries per group. There is also a possibility of mixed gender groups. End
results will be calculated for each individual group separately.
DISTANCES
Seniors & Juniors A (Ladies, Men) 1500m, 500m, 1000m, 1500m Super-final
Juniors B (Ladies, Men) 1500m, 500m, 1000m, 1500m Super-final
Juniors C (Ladies, Men) 1500m, 500m, 1000m, 1500m Super-final
Juniors D (Girls, Boys) 1000m, 500m, 777m, 1000m Super-final
Juniors E (Girls, Boys) 777m, 333m, 500m, 777m Super-final
Juniors F (Girls, Boys) 500m, 222m, 333m, 500m Super-final
Super finals will take place depending on the availability of the ice time.
RELAYS
Group A Men/Ladies – 3000m (Seniors, Juniors A and B) – teams of 4 skaters
Group B Men/Ladies – 2000m (Juniors C, D and E or F) – teams of 3 skaters

The organizing committee reserves the right to change the programme and any aspects of
the competition based on the number of entries and due to any unforeseen circumstances.
AWARDS
The first three placed competitors in the overall ranking will receive medals.st time over the longest distance on the program (See Rule 295)
MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
There will be a Medical representative present at the warm up and during the competition.
EQUIPMENT
All equipment must be in line with the ISU rules. The use of compulsory safety equipment
and proper rounding of the blades will be strictly monitored.
ACCOMODATION
The expenses for accommodation and meals are at the sole responsibility of the participating
teams. Please make the reservation yourself directly with the front desk of the hotel.

LIABILITY
The Organizing Committee declines all responsibility for any loss or damage during the
competition. The skaters are requested to cover their own health insurance. We look forward
